The Industrial Engineering program intends to meet a demand originated from broad shortcomings of state of Bahia, as well as demands related to specific needs of this state and the region, and even the country. These demands involve formation of human resources with qualification at doctoral and master degree, having as a predominant motive force, although not unique, a relevant contribution in resolution of scientific and technological problems of Industry National, especially state of Bahia. This contribution, of course, will be carried out taking as parameters standards of scientific method and academic quality, which, even, is contemed in mandatory curricular activities. On the other hand, the motive force mentioned, obviously, does not restrict, on the contrary, important contributions in the theoretical plan, having a consistent approach in solving complex real problems with a multi-and/or interdisciplinary look at Analysis of the problem and in the synthesis of solution.
